Adam Timbs Loving this triumphant and esoteric dungeon split. Paths crafts a tangible progression through the dungeon; the ominous entrance, the foreboding halls and chambers, reckonings with the sacred and profane, and finally, the encounter that transcends. Listened to this while staying in Iceland, and it brings me back to the river caves every time. Favorite track: Spirit In The Archway.

Tempest2097 Hauntingly beautiful work here and some of my favorite Dungeon Synth on this lovely split release. Paths does an amazing job of classic work here, while Mythril Spectre pushes the boundaries, including vocals. All in all, a top notch album. Favorite track: Hallowed Ground of Ancient Queens.

Dave Aftandilian Paths takes us on the perfect dungeon synth journey: shadowed, ominous, numinous. Well-varied synths paint the dripping walls myriad shades of gray, while more percussive tones echo the passing of ages. With Mythril Sceptre we step through a hidden gate and witness a faery procession, shimmering and dancing and singing at the will of their great Queen. If we kiss the star-sprinkled lips of one of these heartbreakingly beautiful creatures, we shall nevermore return to the world of men.... Favorite track: Roaming Presence.

"In regularity I'll find myself reminiscing, casting, through the fog and boggy stench of my mind to myriad memories of my time as an adventurer. I spent decades of my life marching through storm battered nights, scratching the nettle welts left on my hand after going on the long Autumn hunt, sharpening the dull edge of my blade after forcing the soul of a rampaging marauder in to the cleansing judgement of the Seven."

After his last huge release on Dream Catalogue, Shinatama debuts his new dungeon synth alias, Mythril Spectre in a special split album with the artist Paths, most known for his release Cleansing Pool on Lost Angles. Both artists bring a different dungeon synth experience to the table with Paths' being more ambient and with Mythril Spectre's being more upbeat and adventurous all with both sides being mastered through a cassette tape to make each note blend in with eachother creating a ethereal experience.

"Once Upon an Ancient Archway" is now out on aurawire on digital and with an edition of 50 cassettes.
